Meri Farmaish is the culmination of the big ideas – Skill Development, Make In India and Women Empowerment.
Many women in India, specially from rural and semi-urban areas, are home-makers. They cannot think of taking up a job because either they are not qualified enough to get a good one or they are care-takers of kids and senior citizens in the family; occasionally it is against their social norm to go out of home to work. But these ladies do have some free time on their hands. Most of them have been exposed to the traditional crafts of knitting and crochet, directly or indirectly.
Meri farmaish aims at cultivating that latent talent and making crafted products, starting with crochet and knitting, available to those who like them. Furthermore, by involving the ladies in making them, we also provide the crafters an opportunity to earn from home. Complete training in these crafts – from how to hold the needles to creating finished products, designs and patterns – as well as the required raw material, etc. are provided to the ladies willing to learn.
Meri Farmaish, meaning “My request”, is the digital platform where the crocheted and knitted sample products are displayed; customers can choose what they want and order them in varied colours, size and material; and the finished products will be delivered to them. In fact, you can actually order any design or pattern that you have seen anywhere; give us the size, color and design (a pic or a link to the website) and we will make the product for you.
